Hymn to Humility

The humble man is not ashamed of himself
nor does he feel sad;
he does not know guilt complexes
nor beg out of self-pity;
he does not feel upset or angry,
and returns good for evil;
he does not look out for himself,
but rather lives surrounded by others.
He is capable of pardoning
and closes the doors to rancor.
From time to time the humble man appears
to all to be dressed
in sweetness and patience,
meekness and strength,
gentleness and vigor,
maturity and serenity.
The path of humility always ends in love.
