Our Weaknesses

Sometimes I believe we have betrayed the Lord Jesus, who did nothing else in this world but be the Missionary of Mercy. We have put aside his central message of Abba and have remained with the God of Mount Sinai.

I also believe that we continue with our weaknesses because we are enclosed and trapped in a vicious circle. Just know that we block God’s love with these guilt complexes. We do not let ourselves be loved. In not letting ourselves be loved, in not experiencing His love, we continue in our weaknesses because after all, love is the only transforming power in the world.

The Gospel is joyful news, happy news. We have transformed Christianity into a code of faults, into an obsessive and sad religion. We have set aside Jesus’ heartfelt insistence about the tenderness of God. So, I myself have observed with a saddened heart, that many, many times one of the most important sources of anguish and sadness for pious people, are feelings of guilt. These are carefully cultivated and cared for as if they were sweet smelling sacrifices for God.
