To Believe

To believe is to trust. To believe is to allow.

To believe, above all, is to adhere,

to surrender. In a word,

to believe is to love.

To believe is to «walk in the presence

of God». Faith is, at the same

time, a covenant and an attitude that

grasps, envelops, and penetrates everything

 that constitutes the human person:

his trust, his fidelity,

his intellectual assent,

and his emotional attachment.

It involves the entire history

of a person: his criteria,

attitudes, general conduct,

and vital inspiration.

To believe is to surrender. To surrender

is to walk ceaselessly after the Face

of the Lord. To believe is to always depart.
