Certainty
Without a doubt, faith from God is gift, the primary gift. But it seems to me, there is also a beautiful and basic act of giving on the part of the believer. In pure darkness, the believer leaps into the arms of the Father, who is not seen, without having any other motive or security than His Word. There is great gift (and merit) on the part of the believer, in the act of faith. And we repeat, it is the greatest act of love.

From all that has been said, adult faith is not primarily an intellectual adherence to truths, doctrines, and dogmas, but rather a vital and committed adherence to a person. It is about embracing a Person, and, in embracing Him, one also embraces His entire Word, which conditions and transforms the believer's life.
Faith does not mean merely accepting something as true, but neither is it merely trust...
Believing means saying “Amen” to God, holding fast to him and taking him as our ground.
Believing means allowing God to be wholly God, and that means recognizing him as the sole ground and meaning of life... Faith is existence in receptivity and obedience.
