The Body of Christ
Jesus died to “what I want” in Gethsemane to accept “what You want.” The one who surrenders quiets the living voices of resentment, is supported in the hands of the Father, remains in peace and lives there, free and happy. We become like the white host, so poor, so free, so obedient that, before the words of consecration, it lets itself be converted into the Body of Christ. We come to be like those drops of water that surrender without resistance, losing themselves in the wine of the chalice.

“Abandonment engenders a serene spirit,
dissipates the most intense anxieties,
sweetens the bitterest sorrows.
There is simplicity and freedom in the heart.
The abandoned man is ready for anything.
He has forgotten himself.
This forgetting is his death and birth
in the heart that expands and dilates” (Bossuet)
